All Republican Mayor & Council to Continue Moving Butler Forward
On November 8th, our two Republican candidates were voted to the town council in an uncontested election. This gives us the opportunity to continue the fiscally conservative policies and exceptional foresight which have kept Butler a great place to live, with among the lowest property taxes in Morris County.
Butler Republicans! Join us this Sunday, November 6th to support our 2 Council Candidates…
This Sunday at 10:00am, we will hold our annual Candidates Brunch at the VFW Hall on Carey Avenue (just past the fire house). Tickets are available at the door and cost $25 each. This event is regularly attended by State and County Republican officials, so join us to have an opportunity to speak directly to your representatives.
2011 Annual Picnic Cancellation Information
We are sorry to report that, due to the damage to Stonybrook Park caused by Hurricane Irene, the Republican Club of Butler Annual Picnic to be held on September 18, 2011 has been cancelled. Thank you for all of your support, and please join us on October 6th at 7:00pm for our regular monthly meeting at the Butler Community Center (above the Police Station).
Tonight is “National Night Out” 2011 at Butler Park
The “28th Annual National Night Out” (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participated in National Night Out 2010.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Butler’s superintendent of Schools, Mr. Mario Cardinale, will be speaking at the Butler Community Center on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00pm. He will discuss various topics that are very important to the parents, students, and taxpaying citizens of Butler. Among the topics covered will be:
• Student performance and achievement as measured by standardized testing
• The district vision and action plans for continuous and proactive improvement
• The importance of upgrading our technology capabilities in the classrooms
• The importance of passing the school budget
• Time for a short Question and Answer session will also be provided by the Superintendent
Following the report by Superintendent Cardinale the Mayor and members of the Council will report on their ongoing efforts throughout the town. This promises to be a very informative meeting and concerned parents and citizens are encouraged to attend.
Republican Butler Residents are welcome to stay after Mr. Cardinale’s talk to participate in our Monthly Meeting. You can find more information about our meetings here.
